Speakers Corner

The Palliative Care Council of South Australia is a non-government, community-based organisation of more than 500 members whose Mission is to improve palliative care options available to all South Australians through advocacy and policy development, and application of relevant knowledge and standards.

The Council’s Objectives are:-

Types of Talks
A speaker can be provided to address groups of the role, functions and activities of the Palliative Care Council of SA or to provide education sessions on the South Australia Consent to Medical Treatment and Palliative Care Act 1995 with respect to Medical Powers of Attorney and/or Anticipatory Directions.

Audience Size
In the interest of cost-effectiveness, the Palliative Care Council would prefer a minimum audience of 10 in most instances. In some special circumstances, smaller audiences are acceptable but this will need to be discussed with PCCSA.

Time of Talk
This can be negotiated but an appropriate time would be 1 hour.

Location of Talk
Due to limited resources at this stage, a speaker will only be provided for the Adelaide metropolitan and outer-metropolitan area. However, this can also be negotiated.

Fees/Donation
A fee of $200 per session applies to work site. For volunteers, service clubs etc., there is no fee, however a donation to the Palliative Care Council Inc would be most welcome.
