Palliative Care

Palliative care aims to comfort, not to cure; to relieve pain and distress for people who are dying, and to support patients, families and friends in approaching death and healing grief.

The Palliative Care Council of South Australia is a voluntary membership organisation. Our website is an information resource on palliative care services provided in South Australia and nationally. The site also includes online information that is free or can be purchased in printed form - at a nominal fee. New resources for consumers and health professionals are added to our Information Centre regularly. Newly available for download Sad News Sorry Business – guidelines for caring for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people through death and dying.
